Hilary Duff to abandon Hollywood Records in 2009

After many rumors and speculations about the unfair treatment received by Hilary Duff (singer and actress,) her record label Hollywood Records confirms the suspected: Duff is set to leave Hollywood Records, a company she has worked with since 2002 until now.

After promising a Dignity Tour DVD from her recent world tour promoting her latest album, Dignity, and a completely new world single (both of which were cancelled,) there has been many legal disputes in between Duff and her record label, starting from the first couple of months in 2008.

It was pretty predictable that the singer and actress would soon put an end to the contract that ties her with Hollywood Records, and would seek a new company that would treat their artists fairly and guide Hilary towards a more mature audience.

Already rumors are flying that confirm that she may be joining RCA Records, company that promotes artists such as Christina Aguilera and Avril Lavigne. The plan is for Hilary to sign the contract in 2009 and release an album that same year.
