1. "Reach Out" the video will be shot in June. They're still looking at the same two concepts, one would require Hilary to learn a whole routine for throughout the video, specifically when the Prophet is rapping.

2. Fredwreck who co-produced & co-wrote "Dreamer" & "Burned" is cooking up some instrumentals for Hilary to take a listen to for the new album.
3. Kara DioGuardi has taken phone calls with Hilary to discuss the themes Hilary is going for with this album.
4. Hilary came to the label the other day with two untitled songs that she worked on recently with some unknown writers & collaborators. Hilary has not recorded the songs yet but has beats in mind for both.
5. The label is still shooting for a November/December release & wants Hilary to stay focused on writing for the months June & July.

"Will" Is Now "Rock On"

Vanessa Hudgens' new film formerly known as Will, costarring Gaelan Connell and Alyson Michalka, is now called Rock On. I feel like this movie is going to be so random. NewsDay: Say goodbye, Lizzie McGuire, say hello, Eastern European pop tart. Yep, Hilary Duff is all grown up now, a beautiful 20-year old, and in her latest film, “War, Inc.,” opening Friday, she makes a big career move. Co-starring with John Cusack and Marisa Tomei, Duff plays Yonica Babyyeah, a foul-mouthed, oversexed and underdressed Central Asian pop singer so outrageous, she makes Madonna look like a nun. It’s a role that might shock her clean-as-driven-snow, teeny-bop fan base, but could also jump-start Duff’s mature movie career. To find out what Duff was thinking, Lewis Beale caught up with her at the TriBeCa Film Festival, where “War, Inc.” had its New York premiere.

You drop a major expletive quite a few times in this film. That’s quite a change for you. What were you thinking?

Not only am I doing that, but I’m smoking, letting boys put their hands … The character was a bit vulgar. I don’t think using the … word would have bothered me if I had said it once or twice, but it’s throughout the whole movie. But I’m just acting.

Are you worried how your longtime fans will react to a role like this?

I think that’s the risk that I take. But I’m growing up, and my fans are going to grow up with me. I think there will be a mixed emotion about it. But if I lose fans, well, I don’t want to limit myself in my career.

Is that the reason you chose this part?

A lot of people didn’t want to give me a chance for a long time, because I was doing movies where I was nice, and I was still a kid. But that put me in a box, and people didn’t want to take a chance on me. When I got this script, I flipped over it. I felt ‘I need this, I want this.’ It was great just getting to play a character that was so out there and crazy.

You were 13 years old when you first appeared in the hit Disney Channel show “Lizzie McGuire.” What’s it like growing up in public?

It’s all I know, really. There are things that were hard, because I was thinking things like, ‘If I say this, someone could take it this way or that way.’ I also went through a period where I felt awkward with my body. There were times I would have a meltdown, because you’re working hard like an adult. But my mom treated me completely normal. She never used the … word, [or] said, “Oh, Hilary’s famous.” I would get put in my place really fast.



It seems with this movie you have some sort of career plan, a way to move from teen star to adult. Do you?

I do have those conversations, but things change everyday I think, “Hmm, it might be interesting if I did that.” I’m taking a break for awhile, and reading scripts. But I’d love to do a big movie, an action movie.

Well, it still seems you’re going in a different direction, like in your upcoming film “Greta,” where you have a relationship with a black guy. Was that interracial angle something deliberate on your part?

I didn’t even think about the racial angle. I just have a lot of friends in interracial relationships, and I’ve never been the type of person to judge that. Growing up in Los Angeles, everything’s accepted.

Your mom and dad separated two years ago after being married more than 20 years. You wrote about the pain of this in your hit songs “Stranger” and “Gypsy Woman.” How has the breakup affected you personally. Has it also affected your career?

I don’t think it has affected my career. I knew people would find out about it, because when I was making that album, it was on my mind. It has changed my life forever, and I wanted my fans to know about it. I was 18 when it happened, and I think growing up in my business, I grew up a little faster. You just never think it will happen to you when you’re that age, when your parents have been together for so long. It was a shock, it’s tough, and it’s still tough every day.


DigitalSpy: Hilary Duff has admitted that she put a live scorpion down her pants for her latest film role.

The Lizzie McGuire star said that she was forced to shoot the “terrifying” scenes in War, Inc several times because the creature wouldn’t stay still.

“It was so scary,” she told LA Confidential. “I grew up in Texas, and we had plenty of scorpions, but I never had to put one down my pants before.”

“And my pants weren’t that baggy, so I couldn’t get any space. I did it a couple times with it going down my leg and it was terrifying.”

She added: “The little thing kept doing backbends because it obviously didn’t want to go in my pants, you know? Everyone on the set was cheering!”

Screenwriter Jeremy Pikser described Duff as “physically fearless” while filming the comic war movie.

He commented: “We wrote a scene where [Duff’s character] gives a blow job to a gas nozzle, and when we got Hilary to do this movie, we thought, ‘Well, we’ve got to rewrite that’. But she did it!”

1. Principle writing for the album will start in two to four weeks. Hilary will be working with some of the writers/producers she met back in March.
2. The album will be more general than personal. Meaning you will be hearing more words about dancing & partying, than strangers & stalkers.
3. Hilary has been in discussions to collaborate with some top notch producers from London...
4. "Reach Out" is still supposed to be released. No official release dates yet, but it's set for late summer/early fall. (With all the prepping up Miley's & the Jonas Brothers' new albums, it's no wonder that there's no official date.)
5. Meeting coming up at the end of this month. Hope all goes well.

2. Disney Channel is eyeing an October/November release for Demi Lovato's new movie. They want her album to coincide with the movie, so they've put her on the schedule for either September or October. Most likely being October.
3. Corbin Bleu is now being scheduled for either September or October as well. He's finished about 6 songs & plans to finish the album by the end of July or early August. So they're eyeing an October release as well. But his album & Demi's are pretty much interchangeable. One or the other will most likely be getting released in September & the other in October.
4. A little info on Miley, the label wants to schedule more performance appearances, rather than interviews. They're still negotiating on what they'll do, but the plan is for only one or two main interviews.
5. Hollywood Records is right now debating on what will be Raven's first official single off her album. A video shoot to be coming later this month.
6. "One Love" is supposed to be Jordan's first single.

2. The plan is to release "Greta" in either September or October. (According to execs from the film) They want to put up a release date by the end of this month.
